Be good if he can show something against FC. Kosta wasn't dominant for Macarthur you have to remember (esp) those for letting Kosta go.

Speaking of Rhyss Keane I think I spotted him on the sidelines at APIA v Manly last Sunday. Injured? Nothing about him on the NSWPL site about him.

Christopher "Chris" Paul James (born 4 July 1987) is an association football player who plays for Kuopion Palloseura in the Veikkausliiga. KuPS finished 6th in 2011 over 12 teams in the finnish premier league. He signed a 1 year contract in January 2012.
In 2008 James already played in Finland with Tampere united. On 14 April 2011 the club were suspended indefinitely by the Finnish Football Association because they had received money from a dubious company based in Singapore, known for involvement in fixed games, and they have therefore been excluded from the 2011 season of the Veikkausliiga.[1]

Isn't it amazing he's still only 24 (turns 25 in July)?
Seems to have been around for yonks but just attracted a lot of attention whilst very young.
Plenty of time still to re-build a professional career after a few years away...
Even could make it back into the All Whites fold come June Nations Cup or later games...

Full 90 for james in wedneday and today's game. KuPS qualified for the next round of suomen cup on Penalty kicks, despite playing with 10 players. Today, James played the full 90 but they lost 1-0 in the veikkausliga.

Played the first half of this morning's first Europa League qualifying round against Llanelli. KuPS won 2-1, all goals were scored in the first half.

Good to see Chris playing regularly again (11 appearances - 9 starts for KuPs this year) after only four appearances during his last two years in Europe in 2009 and 2010 - a period blighted by injury, lack of fitness and poor form for Tampere and Barnet.

And "Happy Birthday" too - Chris turned 25 this week - still a lot of playing years ahead of him, although it seems like he's been around for ages...

Return leg Europa Lge qualifier July 12 in Wales...

Saw highlights on a Welsh language tv station yesterday, and Chris grabbed an assist for the second goal!

How come he was subbed off after the first half? Did he get injured?

They didn't show that bit sorry. Don't think he's actually played many full 90 minute appearances yet for KuPs, maybe not 100% match fit. Was wondering what his chances are like of a recall to the NZ squad for the WCQ? Better than Leo Bertos surely!

Juho Mäkelä won the golden boot in the Finish league twice, and he wasn't good enough for Sydney. So suggesting James is better than Bertos is a bit of a stretch.

New Zealanders will forever have a love for Chris James because when he did appear for the All Whites he looked pretty decent. Also the whole Fulham reserves thing seems to be overlooked as playing EPL. I hope for his sake that he can cement himself as one of the top performers in Finland and perhaps one day push for All Whites inclusion again. But right now it aint happening.

I feel like James would bebefit from coming back to NZ/Aus to see where he stands against the locals

Well, he was in Australia playing for APIA Leichardt last year. There was not interest from the A-league clubs so that should tell us something.

He played at APIA Tigers in the NSWPL last season, and hardly stood out.

Started in the return leg of Europa League qualifier this morning against Llanelli, was subbed off at halftime. The final score was 1-1 (both goals in second half), and KuPS have qualified through to second qualifying round 3-2 on aggregate.

Played the last 15 minutes of this morning's Europa League second round qualifier, first leg, against Maccabi Netanya in Israel. KuPS won 2-1, all the goals were already scored by the time James came on.
