According to the one of the latest posts on the rumour link above, it'll just be a loan deal.

Bristol City look to have just signed DJ Campbell from QPR and Derby Connor Sammon from Wigan so maybe it rules those two out
MATCH REPORT WEST BROMWICH ALBION U21’S 3 EVERTON U21’S 1
Played a full game last weekend in the U 21's, got thrashed by Reading 6 - 1
This story suggest v likely he's going out on loan again as well down striking ranks at west brom. Millwall a possible destination, but other clubs likely interested. Also mentions his west brom future will probably be settled in January with contract up at end of season. He will have to shake it up in championship next few months to have chance of getting resigned by west brom.

@officialcwood joins Millwall on a youth loan until November 20. Baggies have right to recall the 20-year-old striker after 28 days.
From Millwall site
Millwall are set to complete the signing of 20-year-old striker Chris
Wood from West Bromwich Albion initially on a youth loan until 20th
November.
The New Zealand international, who has 27 caps and nine
goals to his name, netted a hat-trick against The Lions for Birmingham
City at St Andrews last season, where he scored nine times in 23
outings.
Chris who has also had loan spells at Barnsley, Brighton and
Bristol City, sees this move to The Den as an important one in his
career.
He said: "I'm not in the first team picture at West Brom so I'm dying to start playing regular football again.
In
January I will give some thought to my longer term future, but for now
I'm just looking forward to playing for Millwall and hopefully scoring
some goals."
Wood is expected to be named in the squad to face Cardiff City at The Den on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
More English clubs than any other New Zealander ??
What does a 'youth loan' mean?
Means he can play for West Brom U21 team while out on loan at Millwall.

Set to play this morning
MILLWALL V CARDIFF 6.45 AM NZ TIME TOMORROW MORNING
Will Chris be in the squad? Millwall website says is quite likely (especially after their 1-4 'mare against Hull on the weekend...).

Interesting fact: Chris' new manager at Millwall, Kenny Jackett has played in NZ - for Watford against the All Whites in three games, May 1982, helping NZ in their final warm-up games before the Spain '82 Finals:
Crowds of up to 21,000 and live on TV. I remember well that great Watford side in preparation for their first top flight season (destined to finish in the top few just behind Liverpool etc the next few seasons). Watford had caught the world's attention after promotion from the fourth tier to the top of English football in just five seasons. Current Auckland resident, father of former All White James and former AW's manager, Keith Pritchett was Kenny Jackett's team-mate on that tour of NZ (Pritchett played for Watford 1976- 1982).
Possibly more internationally famous players in the Watford side were future England strikers Luther Blissett and John Barnes...
Results Watford tour of NZ 1982:
May 23, Christchurch, Queen Elizabeth II Stadium, Crowd:13000 New Zealand 0-1 Watford (John Barnes) Coach: Graham Taylor. 289. Friendly May 26, Wellington, Athletic Park, Crowd: 21000 New Zealand 1-1 Watford (Steve Wooddin - Luther Blissett pen) 290. Friendly May 29, Auckland, Mt Smart Stadium, Crowd: 20000 New Zealand 0-2 Watford (Luther Blissett 2)
Came on in the 57th minute. They lost 2-0 at home to Cardiff.
Chris not mentioned at all in the BBC match thread, so can't have made any significant contribution...
This seems to be a poor Millwall side - fourth loss from six games so far - 21st of 24 teams and 13 goals conceded...
Still, early days yet - although having seen highlights of their 4-1 thrashing by Hull on the weekend on "The Football League Show" seems unlikely Chris will be provided many chances to score!
Just scored his first goal for Milwall (they lost 2-1 at home to Brighton).
Was at the game. He looked pretty sharp, really skillful for a big fella. Couple of poor first touches, had a couple of shots which weren't great. Very, very good at winning headers in the box, and getting them on target, beating other big players to the ball. His goal was well taken, fell to him at the back post, well directed from a narrow angle. Could have equalised in the 90th, twat Kuszszszszszak did well to block.
Millwall were awful until they went a man down, then they had the measure of Brighton, strangely.
Brighton fans were unreal, amazing traveling contingent.
Pretty good debut.
Turf Moor has been a happy hunting ground for Millwall over the last
couple of seasons, hitting three goals in each of the team's two
previous visits.
Boss Kenny Jackett will will be hoping that his side
can strike it lucky for a third successive season as The Lions head to
Lancashire on Saturday eager to kick-start their season.
The players
are certainly geared up for this weekend according to new signing Chris
Wood, who bagged his first goal for the club in last weekend's 2-1 home
reverse by Brighton & Hove Albion.
"I've played at Turf Moor a
couple of times before," said West Brom loanee Chris, "And I think I've
drawn twice there previously.
It's a nice big pitch and I'm looking forward to playing up there.
It was good to get my first goal last weekend and hopefully that is a sign of more things to come.
Although
it was disappointing to lose, I don't think we've played too badly over
the last couple of games and we've been creating chances. Hopefully we
will be able to able to take the positives from our last couple of
matches and build on them against Burnley and get a good result."
Harry the Dog: "All we're going for is a good game of football, a good punch-up, and a good piss up - that's all about Millwall".
Full 90 in a 2 all draw, Wood didnt score
Subbed after 67 in a 1-1 draw with Bristol. Davies (bristol) scored a headed goal from 35 yards. Can't find it on YouTube yet.
Had 73 mins today in a 2 - 1 win over Bolton. Had a good header saved.
Chris scored 2 early goals against Birmingham, currently 3 all after 64 minutes, they were up 3 - 1 at half time
Any highlights of this game?
What was the final result... Millwill need a win badly.
Good to see him get a couple, hadn't had much luck in front lately.
Scored 2 goals in a 4 nil win against Huddersfield
Good to see that he seems to have started firing
And an assist to boot! That's 5 for him so far :)
Woodsy looked quick there! Doing real well - hope Millwall keep him.
Cheers for the highlights!
Scores again in a 4-1 win over Nottingham Forest. I think it's safe to say he's on a bit of a hot streak now, with 5 goals in 3 games. Good stuff Woodsy!
Seems like a common theme - gets loaned out to a club, goes on a scoring steak, stops scoring, goes back to WBA, gets loaned out again, hot streak, stops scoring etc.

Yeah looks like his best chance of PL footy is going up with a promoted team. Unless he rips it up in the championship and gets bought by another promoted side
Seems Milwall very keen to sign him permanantly. His WBA contract finishes at the end of the season so I guess January will see if Chris has a long term future at the Baggies as I guess they will want to try and make a few quid by moving him on in January if he does not feature in their long term plans.

Hey they do have a good chance of getting promoted in the next season or two.
It'll just be from league one.
Full 90 today in a 2 - 1 win over Derby, not on the score sheet this time tho, he had his chances
