not even in the starting line up in the French 3rd div - can't see it
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest | England)
Wood scored a tap in against QPR this morning in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
He plays a different role for Hudson - who else is going sit and link defence and attack
Benji van den Broek?

Albert Riera - he should be a no-brainer for Hudson.
Needs to be a "kiwi" first.
Needs to be a "kiwi" first.
As far as FIFA is concerned, he is eligible for the AWs under FIFA Statutes (lived here for at least 5 years). NZ will grant him citizenship under the 'talented sportsman' clause. He doesn't have to meet the normal residency clauses for NZ Citizenship if the AWs want to call him up. The Nix should be reminding NZ Football of this as it would obviously benefit them for him to become a Kiwi.
The fact that Ernie is talking about it says that its pretty close to done. He doesn't generally speculate.
watched the match last night against Burnley. Was pretty unimpressed with Leeds. Very route one stuff most of it aimless. How Wood is supposed to score goals with the service he gets is beyond me. I think the top 4 A League sides would more than compete with the mid to lower level Championship sides. Wood was struggling to do anything with the ball he got, most of it aerial.
Leeds are already looking to next year... much like us!
"Normally with the two chances (from Wood), they are bread and butter to him and he would have put them in the net," Steve Evans said. "The net was three quarters empty and you'd normally expect to put them in."
- UK Sunday Telegraph
Classic English football stereotyping of a player. "Wood is big and tall we need to play him one out up front and hoof it to him". Wood works better as a poacher and with another striker next to him his stats suggest this much at least.

i think the net is always about 3/4's empty..?
Steve Evans wont be helping - I hate Leeds but that club deserves a better manager than him and owner for that matter

Benji van den Broek?
Think he's well out of the picture - only options I think are Clayton Lewis - whose light on experience, not that that seems to bother Hudson or Reira if that's sorted. Still think it'll be WeeMac
Leeds beat Birmingham away 2-1. According to Soccerway an assist from Wood who played the full 90 minutes.

“For the second goal, Woody won the header – I don’t think he lost a header all night. He won everything. "
2 goals this morning, in a 3-2 win for Leeds.

man after watching the extend highlights of this game i cant help but think about how close some of the better teams in the a-league are to the championship. Ive always thought that a-league sides would be a solid league 1 sides, but i think the likes of Brisbane, the reds and Melb B could compete.
Anyway, off topic i know. Well done to woodsy. how nuts did the croud go when he got the 2nd!!

I don't think they could over a season though. Top A league sides have a couple of very good players, then struggle a bit for depth. So over the course of a championship season, A league teams would likely get found out.
One off games are definitely winnable though.

Difference is that A-League clubs have a salary club and comparatively smaller squads.

Difference is not more then two players in each A league side would earn a starting position in a Championship side. Or else that's where they would be right now
Pretty true the money in the champ is crazy lots of players paid more than they are worth kind of like the oil leagues but better obviously.
I wonder how much Woods is on, Leeds paid $6 million for him. Is there some sort of ratio of player wages to transfer fee which is close to the mark in most cases? But it's not unheard of for players in the Championship to earn a couple of million easily, and probably one or two earn as much as an entire CCM squad.
Had a good last few games for a Leeds team that has struggled this season.

And had a penalty saved in a 2-2 draw.

The best A league sides would not finish in the top half.
Not better players than the Champo though. Stop trying to see something in the A-League that isn't there.
I never mentioned a salary cap. It was a question that A league sides would do well.
I think your answer was dumb. Obviously you know nothing about English professional football.
Most football players are monumentally stupid though, so it is safe to say the several players who said that probably struggle to dress themselves in the morning.
The A-League will never be close to the level of the Championship, and that includes all facets of both leagues.
Name them
