Be interesting to see his assists.

A few counter attacks and a lot of defences on the back foot, going backwards.

Scores with his head and feet. And one with his knees I think.

Everton are a decent shot at the Europa league if Man U win the Europa and Chelsea win the Cup I think this creates extra spots ? If they aren't in Europe it would be a bad move though as game time would be limited. He would suite a relegation battler I think a team that plays 2 up front would be best

Wood is the top-scorer in 2017 across the top four leagues in English football:

Garry Monk has left Leeds. Rumours are he will he taking over a lower PL club, maybe Palace. I wonder if he'd look to take Wood with him...

Monk's departure would seem to increase the likelihood that Wood will leave, doesn't it? I think he'd said that Monk was a big part of why he'd done so well this season, and if other clubs were sniffing around anyway you'd think that Monk's departure might seal the deal.

Think Palace would be a good fit if Monk is there. Everton would have been superlative, but being honest, he's not a Lukaku league striker yet.

from the guardian - who should each EPL team sign for next season? =

Stoke: Chris Wood

Stoke made two marquee signings to remedy their problems up front last season, first with the loan arrival of Wilfried Bony and then the permanent transfer of Saido Berahino, but both flattered to deceive. The latter will of course be given more time but with Bony’s unproductive spell at the Britannia coming to an end another striker may yet be a priority. An alternative to 36-year-old Peter Crouch would make sense, and so too would a move for the Championship’s top scorer Chris Wood. The 25-year-old was clinical in front of goal last season for Leeds United, scoring 27 times. He is a powerful target man who would suit Stoke’s approach

Not a target man and wasn't played as such. IMO.

Would be in Berahino's shadow you'd think. A fight for a starting place might be good for him. Is Stoke a good fit? Can he do better? Stoke has come up a couple of times now....

Is Bony still there?

hmmm... Wish he was going to Everton.

Oh well, as long as he's got his destination sorted by early August and is playing some games I'll be happy.

With Shaqiri and Arnautovic on the wings he would get great service.

hmm. True. Haven't watched the PL this year so much with difficulties in coverage.

If he can get the minutes with Bony and Berahino. Outside of Crouch Stoke has been a bit of a strikers graveyard? Is Walters counted as a striker or a MFer?

I guess he'd jump at a chance to get a proper PL berth. Stoke have been a fairly constant mid-table team for a while now.

Bony was on loan, and Berahino played 17 games this season and didn't score a single goal. Berahino had some great performances at a young age which made people think he was the real deal but he's not currently anywhere near as good as people thought he could have been

Walters is 33 and plays as a right winger and hasen't featured much at all last season. Stoke play many formations, always with one striker which is crouch and berahino on the bench. Crouch is 36 and got 10 goals this season and berahino got 3. Diouf another stiker got 3 goals. To sum it up crouch is there main striker with 10 goals compared to the younger players scoring less than three. Wood could make a huge impact there.

Berahino didn't score any goals for the first team this season. His 3 goals were for the reserves

Not sure Chris would have enhanced his credentials against Norther Island this morning. He certainly was living off scraps and had poor service but he also showed quite a few heavy touch at times and generally looked like he was less than 100%. You would think a EPL bound striker would have that little extra touch of class about their play. Will be interested to see how he goes against Belarus

Fair points but I don't think many EPL clubs look to one-off friendlies as a guide to signing strikers. Wood would have to be absolutely terrible in every single All Whites game for that to override the 30 goals he's just scored in the Championship. He's proven his quality now.

Mark Hughes sometimes plays a front 2 and from memory did so even away at chelsea this season

He said int he press that Berahino was going to get extra minutes in order to try to find some form and cohesion for next season. But clearly this has not worked.

He prefers to play Diouf or Walters on the right, rather than up the middle.

Really the only striker stoke have is Crouch, so there's a place for Wood there

Will it be a good move for him? I'm guessing he won't have the amount of space he had at times this season, and with Huddersfield new to the Premier league, perhaps won't get the service he might get in another team? But on the plus, would more likely be the number 1 striker here, so would get game time that might be more restricted  in a "higher" team?

at what point do his previous clubs stop getting a cut... even if it was only .5% Hamilton Wanderers would be stocked. I know the rule was brought in to help support small clubs not been taken advantage of... just don't know what age it stops.

Solidarity Payments (5% of the transfer fee spread over the clubs they were at from ages 12-23) occur every time a fee is paid.
