Wynton played for one of the power houses of German football and all time great clubs, Chris doesn't. Playing European football is largely out of his control. Yet, Chris is fighting for the top position in the Premier League and the golden boot. He's also spent a lot more time in top leagues.

Yes, Wynton did play for a (then-) good club in Werder - but that wasn't by chance. He played for them, was bought by them, because he was excellent. Remember, this was in a time when foreigners were heavily restricted, and clubs only spunked money on those who were worth it.

Chris Wood, or maybe Ryan Nelsen, can go down as the best All White of all time - given his number of appearances/goals and readiness to play.....both of which tally to be far above Rufer's AW contribution. (Nelsen perhaps for his leadership at the 2010 WC)

But if we look at solely from a "who is the better player" point of view - it's Rufer first, daylight second. Top scorer in the Champions League, winner of a European comp (in which he scored in the Final), major domestic league winner, major domestic cup winner......

Some highlights (a personal favourite is Wynton sitting Donadoni on his arse)
