Duncan played a full 90 as he captained the crew over Joe public tonight scoring a goal late in the 88-90 min of the game with an assist from duka! He's played his heart out in this championship! He took some great shots tonight and I'm glad to see one net! The kiwi of Columbus... The heart of the crew!!!!

Was good reading on twitter and on the crew forums how they are calling today st dunc day etc, shows how much of a hero he is to the fans and a legend of the club. You would only have him and Barros schelotto(sp) in that position imo.

It has been declared... October 21 will forever be ST. Duncan Day! Wish it would gave been at home in front of some fans- but hopefully he had a beer or two before the 14 hr trip back to the states! Maybe coach will show him more action!

The weather is chilling here and quickly! I think I better come to your side of the globe for golf! Do you have any blondes in NZ?! Hahaha! That mystery woman hasn't shown up on duncans arm yet! He could at least let the rest of us get another look!

Tonight shall also be another night to remember as a 15ft priceless banner of "st Duncan" is going up in the stadium at 4pm to celebrate his 10 years with the crew! I'm heading to the game and will be sure to take pictures to send along!

That is brilliant. I had no idea he'd been with them for 10 years. That is commitment.

That's awesome! It's cool how he's so popular. Pity he doesn't get on a bit more often as it sounds like he does well enough when he does get on. Surely he's better than some of the other All Whites? ie. Clapham, Mulligan.

Yeah I'd say hes better than Mulligan and Clapham, I just think Ricki has got to the point where he doesn't give him a look anymore, which is odd. But the fans in the states love him.

I don't know how to post pictures but Duncan stole the show last night at the crew casino night and awards show. He arrived with teammate Chad Marshall wearing a PINK and white pint stripped suit jacket- pink sh*t and white tie-with white suit pants! Supporting #8 dog tags and shades! Chad won defender of the year award and thanked "his son" Duncan oughton! Chad looked much like Ron burgundy! The two were a pair to be reackoned with in those outfits! I must say I'm getting myself a suit like that if the ladies flock to it as the did! Duncan never shunned a sole shaking hands, taking pictures, signed autographs up until the end. A real class act- and always represents Columbus crew. Now onto Colorado tomorrow! Hopefully the veteran makes the trip! I'll post a picture if someone tells me how!

And only because it's been my trademark post- the blonde was in attendance! Among several more! The beer was heavy and good times were had by all

Yeah not many players have that long term service to one club in the modern pro game.

omg. Columbus Hasn't re-signed him for next season absolute joke.

Not surprised tbh, it would be like Diego or Mulligan re-signing, not that either of them are club legends though.
It would be awesome if he could sort everything out with Ricki and come home to the Nix.
You know we belong together...

When it rains it pours, and it's literally POURING RAIN in Columbus today! The crew have failed to re-sign 4 key veterans including Duncan! Frankie, Guille and Gino Padula have all not been re-signed as well! It's safe to say the Crew Nation is Pissed and Upset! I won't be renewing my season tickets, and from the sounds of things, several others have pulled their deposits as well! The crew will just not be the same with out the Kiwi! He was/is the heart of the Crew. I wish him best, and hope that he stays in Columbus!

rumour is he will be coaching Waterside Karori - if your fans want to buy season tickets to the Wharf then I can cut them a deal

Come to the A-league! wasn't a starter so see why he was cut.

Well, to be fair he started in the Concacaf Champion League. He would be a reasonably good player in the A League for a season or 2 I reckon.

Saw this earlier in the day quite sad I guess, but at least hes staying with the Crew the fans love him and he clearly loves them back so its good and means of course we still kinda have a kiwi at the Crew

I wonder if Ricki's no selection of him over the last 18 months was a contributing factor in this decision?

I guess this thread is now closed then

Interesting move. Hence his excitable tweeting a couple of weeks ago.

Funny that with Toronto in crisis (let's not try and polish a turd here guys, they've won one game this season) Ryan goes "I know what I need, more Kiwis!"

Hope it works.

Toronto have been 'in crisis' since their inception , to be fair.
