Feels to me like this is a loan move to get regular football and put himself in the shop window for a higher level. Hopefully he outperforms this level and gets a move to a team that suits him better.

Just a note, the club's "SKN St. Pölten", from the city of St. Pölten, not Polten

edit: that was quick, cheers guys!

If he was looking at getting Danish first league stuff maybe there’s some bitterness with the club and former coach?

This was a way to get some match fitness before a better move?

Surely a loan deal. Or what's the point....  better off going to the LOI

Think one of the Melbourne teams just signed an Austrian 1st division player, so gives you a gauge on where the 2nd level may be at.

Straight into it for Just?
SKN Polten (12th) travel to Kapfenberger SV (2nd)
https://us.soccerway.com/matches/2024/08/23/austria/1-liga/sv-stadtwerke-kapfenberg/skn-sankt-polten/4385998/

Article on their website said he's at least a couple of weeks away, which seems odd.

Google translate and all that applicable for the link.

Sounds like he's still a few weeks away from being able to play for Polten, as the transfer paperwork is sorted. Slower for non EU citizens. From Niche Cache.

Bottom line is that Just has gone from one second division club that probably isn’t going to get promoted to another second division club that probably isn’t going to get promoted (though both of them do have that potential if they can get things to click). It’s a strange transfer for someone who supposedly had options, having previously played Superliga in Denmark. St. Pölten must have really sold him on the vision.

By the way, this is the
same club that former NZ women’s U20s player Jana Niedermayr spent last season with (bit more about that stint over here). St. Pölten’s women’s team, in stark contrast, have won the last seven Bundesliga titles in a row and are therefore also regulars in the Champions League. Niedermayr’s since left the club to find more minutes elsewhere in the same division.

Up Next: Gotta wait for the bureaucratic stuff to get done

Eli is stuck with the " 2nd division player" label.

I never got the reason for the rush to a 2nd division Scandinavian league from the Nix. He should have stayed  1 or 2 seasons more and waited for a 1st division opportunity. That move wasn't a leap up from the Nix.
I see it so often, talented young player rushing to Europe or the States only to get "lost" in the system.

Just was an Ole product. Was never at the Nix as far as I am aware?

Obviously confused with McCowatt, who on the other hand has done well in the Danish Superliga, but yes has followed the same path in Denmark starting with Helsingor.

Sorry, Eli I got my facts wrong.

You were then JUSTified to make the move. However, I still believe young players at the Nix or Auckland should only move to 1st division clubs in Scandinavian leagues.

St Polten (15th/2nd last) host Admira Wacker (5th).
Hopefully Just can help his new team edge up the table.
