Francis De Vries at FC Basel can be added to that list, or at least can be in January:

Interesting specially that NZ has always been tin in left footed defensive midfielders. But I made a reseach on fc basel website and no mention of him .At least I found his profile and he is pretty tall for a 17 years old player(1,81m)

I would think so.  He wasn't particularly convincing in the game here against Team Welly.

You can take Dominik Traunmuller off the list as Traunmuller is now part of the  Austrian u-19 squad playing qualifying matches for Euro u-19 Championships in Estonia this year:

Has been in squad since at least August last year from what I can see.:

This reference on Football Acadamy of Linz website:
Ex-FAL players in U19 National Team

With Dominik Traunmller (SpVgg Unteraching), Toni Vastic (Bayern Munich) and Sebastian Wimmer (LASK) has three former team manager Marko FAL players for the friendly match against Bosnia / Herzegovina on 6 September Ritzing (Bgl.) convened. With goalkeeper Michael Hfler , another former player FAL is on call.

He was also called up for a friendly against Slovenia u-19 last month.

hate to jump on this roundabout again but isn't he still eligible for NZ until he plays a competitive international match for Austria (not a friendly or age-group game)?

Just saying Traunmuller should be taken off the list of players which this forum thread is the subject of,  namely "Kiwis Overseas eligible  to play in 2012 Olympics."
Obviously, Traunmuller won't be available for our current Olympic team if he's part of the Austrian u-19 squad at the moment and I think he could just be too old for the 2016 Olympics (born 1993).

He is 17 and was part of the NZ team in U17 WC in mexico last year.(they made it to the second round). A good crop of young players for the future.

I think now he plays in the 8th tier youth league of Kazakhstan.

Here is a link to the last game he played in.

Report on his two goals in quarterfinal of FA Youth Cup v Fulham:

Mentions he has concussion from previous game but hopes to be okay for second leg of FA Youth Cup semi-final against Blackburn.

Report today in Burnley newspaper says club are moving quickly to get him on a full professional contract since he's only on a youth one, to prevent him being snatched by Liverpool or Newcastle who are showing interest.

What are your choices for the 3 kiwis overage overseas???
For me Nelsen, Smeltz and either Mcglinchey or Tim Brown if he is conviced to do that.  But for sure one DF, one MF and one FW.

Video of Liam Graham (NZ u-20 World Cup last year) playing for Vicenza against Juventus youth team in the last 16 one of Italy's premier youth football tournies, the Viareggio Cup 15/2/12 in a 1-1 draw (Juventus won on penalties):

Liam sounds like he's part of a pretty useful defence and they caused Juventus'  youth team problems. Must surely be a contender for our Olympic team?

First up were Vicenza, a team who provided what was easily the sternest test yet for a Juventus side who began the game somewhat tentatively, and fell behind to a penalty after a fair handball call. The reaction however spoke volumes for the spirit found within the team and they showed great resilience to fight back, eventually equalising through a great goal by Stefano Beltrame.

Despite pressing on for a winner, the Vicenza defence held on and sent the game to penalties where the Bianconeris mental strength would once again prove the difference, with all five players who stepped up Padovan, Bouy, Libertazzi, Chibsah and Beltrame able to score and Lauren?iu Br?nescu making a brilliant save to see Juventus through.

Even in th U20 qualifying he did'nt play a single. I would be surprised if Emblen brings him, even if we are weak at RB. In the future storm roux and Traunmuller could be good options.
