Eagar in the NZ 'A' side? anyone have info? bit of a joke if he isn't, clearly excelling...

Sounds like the NZA will be full of Phoenix All Whites guys plus some U20s. VPL still has 5/6 weeks so guess Eagar and Musa won't be released for it.

I expect NZ A to be a locally-based team.

It seems as though South Melbourne will now play South Hobart in the NPL. However, to win the Victorian competition they still have to play a finals series against the other top 5 Victorian teams.

I wouldn't say pointless. Its what landed Hicks and Ridenton their contracts at the Nix.

So you are saying their are "5 Inaugural Victorian NPL Champions"  If so it could only be in Ozzy.

Just had to ask at the bar - to find out Hobart is in the Tasmania not Victoria.

Not an Ozzy

I thought that was pretty basic knowledge.

Three for me, and two for them.

Yes it is but just a simple comment on how to win the VIC NPL (Which ME + SMFC had done)

Think he meant to say "have to beat the other 5 top State teams to win the Australian NPL title"

No. Take South Australia, for instance. North East Metro Stars finished top of their NPL regular season competition and will go through to the Australian NPL quarterfinals despite losing their grand final against Croydon City. The exact same thing happened in Newcastle, Sydney and ACT where the winner of the regular season and not the winner of the overall competition went through to the NPL finals.

Therefore I believed that for South Melbourne to win NPL Victoria they still had to play in a playoff series against the other Victorian sides even though they had already qualified for the NPL finals. However, it seems in Victoria there is no playoff system unlike all the other state leagues.

Playing future would indicate a new club ..but I'm gonna say All Whites camp. Think they've  put the feelers out to a few fringe players.

Injury replacement with CCM? Rather tenious link but I'll thru that out cuz didn't he have a bit to do with Stu Jacobs in the past and he is now with CCM.

South Melbourne were knocked out of the NPL play-offs by South Australia champs North Eastern Metro Stars 2-1 on 28 September.

Hope the new All Whites regime is watching Michael Eagar closely today in the NPL semi finals!
I have it on good authority that Adelaide United FC and at least one of theMelbourne Heart or Melbourne Victory have scouts in attendance.

Doesn't mean an A-League club can't sign him. The compensation they have to pay state league clubs for players is a pittance.
