A goal, but unfortunately in the wrong net.

Full game and oggie and 1-3 loss to Júbilo Iwata (5th)

Niigata 6th.

17 games into the J2 season. 21 games is usually the half way mark, unsure if Covid has changed that.

Top 2 teams promoted. 2nd placed Giravanz Kitakyushu are 9 points ahead of Niigata.

Full game in a 0-1 home loss to Tokushima Vortis (2nd).

Niigata 9th. These sort of games I imagine they need to win, to push for promotion to J1.

Top 2 only get promoted and they are 11 pts off 2nd spot. Season at half way point.

Subbed at HT in a 1-0 win at Ryūkyū. One of 4 HT subs.

Ryūkyū are based on the tropical island of Okinawa I see. Maybe a bit hot and steamy there, and some fresh legs were needed for the 2nd half.

Niigata 7th, still 11 points off the promotion spots, but still 19 games to go.

Bit of a slog the J2 league this season. 42 games crammed in, as a few months lost to Covid. Pretty much 2 games a week constantly.

Nagaskai in a desperate fight with Avispa Fukuoka (3rd), for 2nd promotion spot. Separated only on GD at the moment.

Niigata's season splutters towards an end with a 3-1 loss at Matsumoto Yamaga (16th).

Fitzgerald absent.

Niigata now down to 8th with 3 L & 1 D in their last 4 games.

Probably struggling for motivation with neither promotion or relegation happening. 39 games played in about 4 months, and 3 still to go.

In the J1, Fitzgerald's old club Kawasaki Frontale, have the title wrapped up, 14 points clear with 3 games to go.

Ange Pot's Yokohama F. Marinos, who won the J1 title last season are down in 9th. They are still going in the ACL, having made round of 16.

Niigata's season continues to unravel (not that it really matters) with a 1-2 loss to ThespaKusatsu Gunma (20th)

Niigata down to 9th, after only 1 win in their last 8 games (incl 5 losses)

Full game Fitzgerald. Two games left.

FYI - Ange Pot's Yokohama F. Marinos lost 2-1 in ACL round of 16, to Suwon Bluewings

Final is Persepolis (Iran) verus Ulsan (Sth Korea)

Season over for Fitzgerald (full game) and Niigata.

Finish with a 3-1 loss at Omiya Ardija (15th). Niigata 11th on the table after being around 5th-6th most of the long (42 game) J2 season.

1 win in their last 9 games, obviously lost motivation (or experimented with team selections) once promotion ambitions were over

When are they playing Machida? Think it's in the next couple of months. Outside chance I could get to that. Be a laugh.
