Potenza come back from 1-2 down to win 5-2.
Kirwan with a bit of a gift for their 3rd goal and his first for Potenza (in the green). He went off at 74 mins (3-2).
Some nice goals in this game. Still chilly enough in Southern Italy.

Next for them 2nd leg of the Serie C Coppa Italia final at Latina. Potenza 9th in their Girone (region)

Kirwan full game in a 1-0 loss. Means Potenza prevail over the two legs 3-2 to win the Coppa Italia Serie C trophy, and with it a guaranteed spot in the Serie C promotion playoffs.

Pretty sure Kirwan won the same trophy with Padova last season!

Great effort when there are 60 teams spread across the 3 Serie C regional leagues, and Potenza (10th in the southern region) are far less a dominant force than Kirwan's Padova were lase season in Serie C.

FYI - Padova are currently 13th in Serie B, just above the relegation spots on GD.

Kirwan a yellow card and full game in a 1-1 draw.
Potenza (48 pts, -2 GD) remain 10th, the last playoff position, with one matche left.

They are basically assured a spot in the playoffs as without a massive GD turnaround in the last round Altamura (11th, 45 pts, -13 GD) can't catch them.

I see Kirwan's initial team to start this Serie C season, Trapani (last) have been deducted 25 pts now and will be relegated. Without the 25 pt deduction Trapani would be equal on pts with Potenza!
Likely all explains why Niko left.

As Potenza won the Serie C Coppa Italia, they have gone straight through to R3 of the promotion playoffs. H&A 2 legged ties to start next weekend.

By then the 27 teams in the bloated playoff system will be down to about 13-14 teams by my count.

Only 1 team gets promoted to Serie B!

Potenza to play Ascoli over 2 legs in the playoff QFs.

Ascoli were 2nd in Girone B. Potenza just bet Campobasso 6-1 on agg, who were 4th in the same Girone.

So Kirwan & Co will give themselves a chance, despite finishing a lowly 10th in Girone C.

Kirwan an unused sub in a 0-0 draw.
Since his ACL injury a few years ago, he seems a play one, miss one game sort of guy. Or maybe that's just my imagination.

2nd leg at Ascoli in 3 days.
