Stanza: 3 lines.
The first lines compares the glorious grace of Carter and co. to the PEC lad from Te Puke: Ryan Thomas, with the courage of an All Black.
The second line states the result of the game. The culprit refers back to the first line: Ryan Thomas. " The satorial shaking of the feathers" refers to the preening of a peacock, and in this case the celebration of the winning goal.
The third line again refers back to the first line and the hero of this epic poem: Ryan Thomas. Our poet compares the genius of Thomas through the coincidence of him being given the number 14 to a famous hero of yore: Johan Cruijff. Was this later day hero the same as this legendary one of the days of yore? Completely, totally, abso-bloody-lutely.
