North Carolina 4th in USL Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay still top of the table.

Good result for Brotherton & North Carolina. Tampa Bay previously undefeated in the league, and prior to this game had only conceded 4 goals in 13 games.

Very good start to the season in the US for Brotherton and good to see him getting consistent game time at a decent level. Something that wasn't happening over the other side of the Atlantic prior to moving stateside.

Replaced at HT as NC, lose US Open Cup game to MLS side New York City 4-0.

NC already down 2-0 when replaced.

Must have been injured midweek (was replaced at HT). Not in matchday squad as NC beat Swope Park Rangers 2-0.

Full game in a 2-1 away to Memphis 901. Winner at 88 mins.

North Carolina now 6th in Eastern Conference.

No Collier for Memphis (15th now in the East). He's missed about the last 4 matches, so presume injured. Pity because he bagged a hat trick not that long ago.

Full game in a 5-0 trouncing of Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

5th placed Pittsburgh had a player sent off at 44 mins. At this stage was still 0-0.

North Carolina up to 4th in USL Eastern Conference.

Got another 90 minutes midweek in a 4-2 win over Tampa Bay Rowdies as North Carolina continue their impressive season, jumping above Tampa into 2nd place in the Eastern Conference (for now at least - other teams with game/s in hand).

Tampa have only conceded 20 goals in the Championship this season - I think it's 2nd or 3rd best (out of 36 teams across 2 conferences) but in the 2 games with North Carolina they've shipped 7!

Brotherton with 23 starts from 25 this season in the Championship and a couple of goals too. Good to see him getting consistent game time at a decent level after leaving the UK.

90 mins as NC go down 1-0 at Swope Park Rangers.

NC 6th spot USL East, and still look comfortable for USL playoffs (top 8), being 9 points ahead of St Louis in 9th.

Full game in a 2-0 win over New York Red Bulls II (4th on the table).

North Carolina (NC) up to 6th in the West.

Looks like still 2 weeks to go in the regular season before playoffs.

Playoffs start 23rd October, with the USL Final scheduled sometime Nov 14-18th.

So if Brotherton's NC or Musa's Phoenix, made the final they would likely not be available for AWs in November (Eire & Lithuania games 15th & 17th).

NC still look well safe for the playoffs.

Full game in a 1-0 win over Saint Louis.

Regular season over, North Carolina will finish 7th in USL Eastern Conference.

So I presume they will have a 'play in round' game midweek (spots 7-10).

Anyway from afar Brotherton seems to have had a good season, after it wasn't happening for him at Sunderland.

Must be in the AWs mix, esp if both Reid and Wynne are out injured.

Not happening for Kiwis in US knockout soccer.

North Carolina (7th regular season East) lose 2-3 at home to Birmingham Legion (10th) in USL 'play in round'.

Were 2-1 up, but conceded at 66 mins, and then very late at 93 mins. Season over.

Full game for Brotherton, who as above you would think is in the AWs mix for November.

Big season for ahead for Brotherton. He was already an ever-present in the starting lineup in 2019. Reckon if they're solid at the back like they were last year (they were lne of the best defensive teams in the USL) and if they can replicate something like that again this season, he could potentially attract some interest MLS interest.

Seems big gaps currently between USL games. Some sort of Covid health travel restrictions I'm guessing.
