Started again in the 1-0 loss to Duisburg. Pretty sure the coach will be sacked soon.
Stefan Marinovic (TSV Grünwald | Germany)
MSV Duisburg - SpVgg Unterhaching highlights. Stefan had a great game judging from the highlights. He made some smart saves and once again his defence lets him down which lead to the penalty. At least he's getting plenty of match experience playing for a team who has to defend a lot.
Unterhaching 1-2 Stuttgarter Kickers. Stefan started again.
Unterhaching vs Stuttgarter Kickers highlights.
Stefan had to be subbed off on 9 minutes in their 1-0 loss to Osnabruck due to a shoulder injury from what I understand.
Terrible timing if that's true. Just after he had such a good game vs South Korea

Bad luck for the lad but Max Crocombe is maybe in better form of the two of them.
Stefan has signed a new 1 year contract with the option of a second year. He played the full 90mins in the opening game of the season against Ingolstadt II, which ended 2-2.

Impressed by Stefan v Korea.
Stefan has signed a new 1 year contract with the option of a second year. He played the full 90mins in the opening game of the season against Ingolstadt II, which ended 2-2.
Playing in Regionalliga (4 div), relegated from 3. Liga last year.

Indeed, however with their new coach and the new signings they have made there is no reason for them to not gain promotion back to 3.Liga. I'm sure Hudson wont change his opinion of him as long as he gets solid game time.
hvala jtoml3!
Marinovic definitely looking to cement the #1 spot, having played all 5 games of the season thus far. After a difficult start to the season Unterhaching picked up a 1-0 win during the week. So they will be looking to build on that performance.
However....
A huge challenge/opportunity (depending on what way you look at it!) tonight though, playing Ingolstadt who won the 2.Bundesliga last season and will be looking to start off their season proper with a solid performance and a win in the DFB Pokal.
Good luck to him, should he stay injury free he'll get a lot of game time this season.
He played in their 2-1 over Ingolstadt in the DFB Pokal.
3:15 good reflexes

yeah- excellent save. he had to put some power into his hand to get the ball up and away, too.
Whenever I see kiwi internationals with their own topics, I start to worry if they are in fact eligible for NZ.
Stefan is good to go is he?
he's aucklander

Unterhaching are on quite a fairytale run in German cup competitions.
I just read about how they qualified for the first round of the DFB Pokal (German FA Cup).
Seems that the DFB Pokal isn't as open as the English FA Cup with more restricted entry to the early rounds.
Bundesliga clubs enter from Round One in early August.
Unterhaching qualified for the first round of this season's DFB Pokal as winners of the Bavarian Cup at the end of last season.
So the win of fourth division Unterhaching over Bundesliga team Ingolstadt was their seventh cup win on the trot after winning six Bavarian Cup games last season.
The Bavarian Cup is open to member clubs of the Bavarian Football Association - except the 1.Bunesliga and 2.Bundesla sides and reserve teams.
Details of how Unterhaching won the Bavarian Cup last season here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014%E2%80%9315_Bavarian_Cup
Unterhaching pocket about € 140,000 plus all gate receipts from the Ingolstadt game. Which would be about $NZ 400,000 in total.
Socceroo international Matthew Leckie didn't play for Ingolstadt in the cup game.
Ingolstadt had beaten Udinese and Celta Vigo in friendlies before the Unterhaching loss and beat Mainz in the Bundesliga away in their next game.
he's aucklander
Indeed, he was born in Auckland. His father and/or grandfather were born in Croatia I'm quite sure.
Played in the 2-0 win over Augsburg II.
He played in their 2-1 over Ingolstadt in the DFB Pokal.
Just watched the highlights on this, good win, although how that second goal was not called offside is beyond me.
Played in the 5-0 win over Memmingen.
Full 90 in a 0-0 draw with FV Illertissen.
Played the full 90mins in the 1-1 draw with his old club, 1860 München II.
Yeah great effort.
Leipzig lie 2nd in Bundesliga 2 (so may have played a weakened side as no doubt focusing on promotion to the top division), and game drew a large croud of 5,000 for a Unterhaching home game.
Hopefully in next round they draw a big Bundesliga club away, and then you never know what scouts etc will be watching Marinovic. I see Bayern Munchen also into next round of 16!
Played the full 90 in a 4-0 win at TSV Buchbach.
The Marinator juggernaut rolls on with a 2-1 win over Ingolstadt II.
0-1 loss for Unterhaching over weekend. They now lie in 5th place but I note have conceded least goals of any team in league to date.
That most be some reflection of Marinovic having a good season in goal so far
Had a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich II this morning.
Midweek Unterhaching were knocked out of the German Cup, losing 1-3 at home to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
A big 12,500 home crowd saw Unterhaching go 1-0 up after 27mins. However Alex Ferguson's favourite Mexican 'Little Pea' Hernadez put ball in Marinovic's net at 31 mins. Leverkusen scored twice more in 2nd half.
Be really interesting to know how Marinovic performed. No doubt a busy night in goal against a top drawer German side.

Highlights of the German Cup match. He made some good saves. I don't think he was at fault for any of the goals.
Played the full 90 minutes in a 6-0 win over Augsburg II.
Played the full 90mins in a 4-1 win over Bayern München II.
Marinovic's club Unterhaching finished league season in 4th place.

I note they conceded 2nd lowest goals (32) of the 18 teams in the league. Which Marinovic has to of course take some credit for.
Be interesting to know if he is on radar of any bigger clubs - esp as Unterhaching had a great run in the German Cup.

Lets look at the list.
Moss, Spoonley, Williams, Basalaj Crocroombe (or whatever it is) Gleeson.
Where do you think he fits in that mix?
probably somewhere near the top based on what i've seen of him to be honest
Well, Reggie, you called it. I was sceptical but he did really well in the Nations Cup.
Well done Marinovic. Player of the tournament (for us)
