Wasn't he the last person we were waiting on for eligibility anyway?

4 months is a lot less than I thought it'd take to see him back training.

He's one of the best fullback I've seen for a while.

Norwich City supporter since 1992, New Zealand supporter since 2010 but without Rory Fallon's winning goal against Bahrain, I won't know about New Zealand Football.

He's struggled the last couple of years, although I think that is more reflective of his team than him. Hard to get forward when your team is always under the pump.

But he's so quick and his defending was solid too.

Was captain today in CCMs draw with WSW.  Possible future AW captain?

Storm Roux and the Mariners just got their first clean sheet of the season in a 2–0 home win over Perth.

First assist of the season in a 4-1 loss to WSW. Good to see he is fit and healthy Perth Glory are reported to want him maybe a decent move in a season or two when Rison inevitability moves on he had interest from Belguim at the end of last season.

Does anyone know if he's been named as captain for any pre-season matches? He must surely be a favourite to take the armband?

Decent fullbacks are very rare in this league - I'd imagine he's be getting a serious pay rise

Permalink Permalink

Why would he be getting a pay rise.. he wasn't a starter for the half the season at a team which gained the wooden spoon!

Permalink Permalink

I personally think that he is good going forward but poor defending - overrated. Not what the Phoenix need

Supposedly off to the Victory? Let them have him

He fell out with Okon, so don't think you can hold the lack of starts against him.

Honestly he would be perfect for any team playing a wingback system, let him bomb forward but not get tied down in defence. Victory let their fullbacks get very far forward, so I think he will be a good fit for them imo.

I know when we used a 5 at the back system mid-season it was all a bit negative, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing us use it again, and in that case Roux would be a good fit. We all lambasted Galloway for being terrible defensively, but the stats show he was actually pretty important to the team on a whole and was good when attacking. You could have Galloway-Doyle-Durante/Import-Fox-Roux. You have your big experienced captain in the middle directing the defence, and Doyle and Fox who can cover for the wingbacks if caught out up the field.
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

I think this is a very good move for him, his style of play will suit the way the Victory play.

Like Crocombe, Roux has been released/not re-signed by the Victory.

Had been rumored for awhile that he was re-signing with CCM, the rumors were strengthened by the fact he was coming up on Lasses Tinder's on the Coast. They confirmed it last night

Kinda surprised Roux managed to get re-signed, must not be asking for much.

Well Lewis Miller just left so they could do with the depth, doubt he’ll start over Farrell on the left and the newly signed Aquilina on the right though.
