76 minutes in a 1-1 draw with NYRB, they coughed up an injury time equaliser. Sounds like the young NYRB right winger gave him nightmares all game.

At least the goal wasn't conceded whilst he was on the pitch.

how will he go against Obafemi Martins?

From Phoenix reject to playing against Thierry Henry. Not the usual career path...
The All Whites have absolutely no depth at left back, so although you'd hope we can do better than Lochhead in the near future, still good he's playing at  a decent level if he's needed in future squads.

if he sticks around in the close season to do the summer camps, he can expect to add $50k US to that

Still out with a hammy strain, missed Chivas' 2-1 loss to the Sounders.

Has appeared in Chivas last few league and cup games.

Disappointingly for Chivas their last game was a cup game where they lost in the Lamar Cup to Carolina RailHawks on pens.  Tony collected an assist though.

While not being the biggest fan of Tony's I feel that he should be called up again to the AWs as a squad player for his experience and the fact that that he is still starting at a high level, infact higher then the A-Legaue! where he was dropped from.

Chivas are terrible though (by all accounts). I would rather have Lochhead then some players like Adams, Aaron Scott and Musa but really we have more than enough defenders. Durante, Sigmund, Reid, Smith, Fenton, Roux, Fitzgerald, Tuiloma are all better options going forward.

Calling up Lochhead? No way! The goal is now the next world cup, which Lochhead won't be part of. Better to get the kids in now.

I'm not sold on Fenton as a defender, Durante and Sigmund are older then Tony and Fitzgerald may never play a competitive AW international.

He's just so god damn slow and physically weak. He can play alright, but he just gets out muscled, pushed around and skinned for pace far too often.

Storm Roux is so much better than Tony Lochhead, and I'm going to hope Bill Tuiloma becomes better than him too.

1st two season with the Phoenix he was excellent - had a a trial with Boro in the Prem League then, didn't get signed and it looked like it blew his confidence - was never the same player here after that.

I agree completely. However, was there anyone out there that believed he would make it with Boro, because I did not.

I think at the time everyone was like 'holy cow he is getting a shot' and when he came back, I think people were disappointed for him because there was belief he was a good footballer but I don't think anyone was shocked by it. You can actually define his Phoenix career by pre Boro trial and post Boro trial because more than a few people agreed that he was not the same footballer after that trial.

Especially that he was back within a couple of weeks.

Being a lifelong Boro supporter the answer is no..don't even know why he got the trial given who we had at the time.  Left peg anyone I guess.

Yeah was gonna say Lochhead never crossed like that for us, but we never had anyone that could finish like that either.

Actually Lochie made lots of good crosses for us, but people only remember the disappointing ones. One good cross per game can win it for you.

Wow! Contender for best assist by a Kiwi in a professional league!

Maybe the new All Whites coach will see this and think Tony is some kind of footballing genius!!!

I know he only scored the one goal for the Nix but did he put in many assists when he was a regular?

Lochy did alright when he had Smeltzy to hit. and Daniel to exchange passes with. At least that's how I remember it.

All we needed to do was sign Torres huh?

Chivas have won their last 4 games in a row. Think he played a bit of Central defence could still be handy in that position for the All Whites with Smith to LB

Not saying he should be a certain starter just that he has come into a bit of form and is still a decent versatile option as a squadie.

I know you are no fan leggy but it seems that now he's out of Ricki's shadow his pre Middlesbrough form MAY be returning.

As I've said before I would be happy to include him in a squad of 23 for the AWs if players such as Reid, Smith etc rule themselves, thus providing experience and leadership and maybe a cool head.

Storm is right sided correct?  He should have that spot nailed for ages but there is still plenty of competition on the left, currently being filled by players who are young, inexperienced and still not playing 1st XI football for their clubs or on loan, instead propping up reserve/youth sides.

Tony is not our future but I'm not sure the AWs can afford to throw him on the scrap heap just yet.
