If we did need another defender, why would we go for Reid? Players like Vlaar, Inigo Martinez, Nicolas Otamendi or Joel Matip. All of those players would be good squadies, relatively easy to obtain and probably better than Reid.
Even if it was a good move for Man U, I can't see why it would be a good move for Reid.
Some of the utd forums are full of delusional idiots who think nobodys any good unless you pay 50 or 60 million pounds for them,the bottom line is with ffp rules now we are unlikely to be spending huge money on a defender in january unless we get money for,Nani,Hernandez,Cleverly and maybe a couple of others.Otamendi is being quoted around 40 million pounds,Im not sure hes that good,Vlaar is nearly 30 and likely to be overpriced being from an English club.Martinez looks a little on the short side to me but may be worth pursuing and you would have to convince Matip to give up champions league to come and then have him go straight to the African cup in january.Im not saying there arent better defenders out there than Reid but at least he knows the league,speaks the language,would be cheap and very rarely has international duty,if we can someone better than great but if not its worth considering at least,imo.
