I guess it just shows how hard it can be to read tone in written words, because I definitely didn't intend it to sound panicky!
He was clearly panicking - "does the coach not rate him"
Sure, out of context with the rest of my post that might seem panicky, but come on, I asked first if he was injured... and ended it with "or something?"
