Many media reports coming out that the following has been signed off on and future negotiation.
Optus have pulled out of the bidding leaving only Fox to bid.... remember the current A-League deal is about 25 million.
A four year Fox deal to broadcast 5 five games ... 50 mil per year.
Leaving FFA still to sell the following.
1] Saturday night plus finals to a commercial FTA station ... estimates between 10 and 15 million, will happen after BB deal is signed.
2] Overseas sales ??????
3] The sixth game when we have two extra teams ....
What are 2 & 3 worth ?????
So a short four year deal somewhere between 70 to 85 million is my guess.. essentially a threefold increase in cash, plus a better match and by far better channel on FTA ... screaming out is the need to build ratings...
Whether this is good or bad is subjective I guess ...
