Not a huge NFL follower, but I guess I have a sort of soft
spot for Green Bay, partly becasue they're the only publically
owned "company" team left in the NFL. . .
Has Brett Favre got a dispensation to bring his zimmer frame onto the "frozen tundra of Lambeau Field" or has he finally retired.
Go BIG D
Yeah!!! looking forward to the season. Will be good.
I'm a Eagles fan.
stallworth isn't gonna help....
and losing
Ha, Stallworth is a useless punk who thinks he's way better than he actually is. Why do you think we off-loaded him to the Eagles in the first place? And for Marc Simenaou, or whatever his name is, ffs.
Geaux Saints!!!
Only recently started following, don't really have a team. I like
the Chargers, Saints, Colts... just a part time viewer
though.Anyone want to set up a fantasy league, I like Yahoo's
one.
I used to run the Dixie League on Yahoo Fantasy Football, if there's enough guys interested, I'll look to revive it...
Saints 7
Thanks for comin New Orleans, pity you don't have a hurricane to spur you on this season.
Steelers 20
Easy there...do the words pre-season mean anything these days? Drew Brees played only two series, Marques Colston only played first quarter, Reggie Bush also, and Deuce McAllister didn't even play. And that's just out of the big name players, and I guess it was the same fr the Steelers. We basically used the game to give a lot of marginal and unsigned players an opportunity to see what they have. The Saints are still among the best in the NFC, and a meaningless pre-season loss doesn't change that.
I've created a new Yellow Fever League on Yahoo Fantasy
Football...for those who're keen to join in, the password is
phoenix.
Whens the draft? what type? do you mind if new players play?

We'll do the draft as soon as everyone who's keen has joined in. I've basically created the league for yellow fever guys who also follow the NFL, so everyone on this forum is welcome to join. There is a maximum of 20 teams in the league, so there's 19 spots yet to go, with the mighty Teddybears already in. The draft type can be agreed on by consensus (currently it's off-line, but I can change that at any time before the draft).
The league's ID number on Yahoo Fantasy Football is 347668, and the password is phoenix.
Bring back Barry Sanders.
Choker.
Hmmm, will I beat Walter Paytons record and become the best ever rusher in NFL history and do it on a very average team making the achievement even more remarkable? No, I'll just inexplicably quit without any good reason and completely disappear into obscurity.
No, Emmitts the man (and a pretty good dancer too - must be those quick feet).

Malky2007-08-18 22:25:12
Colts will NOT make the Superbowl
Bengals will NOT make the Playoffs
LaDanian Tomlinson to lead the league in Rushing Yards
Matt Leinart to lead the league in Passing Yards
Huge call on Matt Leinart...can see all the other ones happening though.
and Fitzgerald as his WRs. Boldin in the best #2 WR in the league and
would be #1 at ANY other team. With Edgerrin James in the backfield,
you have one of the most capable pass catching RBs ever.
Look for formations not disimilar to this

WR3 hittin under the LBs
WR2 Hittin the middle of the field deep
This will show up Leinarts class.
its not really that huge a call if u think about it.....he has
Boldin
Well, I don't want to turn this into a big thing, but since I'd rather be doing this than work, here goes...
While I agree that the Cards have a very good receiving corps, they've had it for a couple of years now and Kurt Warner was also supposed to have a great time with them, and we both know how that ended up. Admittedly, Leinart's much younger and more athletic but still pretty inexperienced as a starting QB in the NFL.
The Edge, a great player in his prime, is I think past his best.
I don't really follow the Cards, but from the bits and pieces that I saw, their O-line was dreadful over the last 2-3 years. Don't know if they've upgraded in that area in the off-season - if they have, Leinart may do well since he's obviously talented, but I still don't think he'll end up passing for most yards in the whole NFL. My pick is that that record will go to one of this group: Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Marc Bulger and Tony Romo (don't really rate him, but anyone throwing to a healthy TO has a chance). If pressed to pick one of those, I'll go with Bulger. He also has a very good receiving corps, an excellent receiving RB in Steven Jackson, and a decent O-line. The Rams also have a rubbish defence, meaning they'll probably be playing from behind quite often, so Bulger may end up throwing a lot...My ten cents' worth anyway...
Happy to have a bet about this, as long as the stakes are of alcoholic nature
Fever NFL thread - Go the Eagles !
So with Malky, myself and (I suspect) Barber all supporting teams
in the same division I suspect there may be a few more NFL
supporters out there.
Pre-Season starts this weekend. Anyone else firing up ?

Go the 49er's.
Is Joe Montana still playing for them?
im a huge tiki barber fan, i think it sux he retired so early - he
had at least another 5000 yards in him. im not a ny giants fan tho
- my hopes n' dreams rest solely on the steelers, i think with big
ben and coach tomlin workin together on this new "no huddle"
offense, we'll be more dangerous than ever.
if you want to see some "football" live - come check out my team during the summer. The Wellington Wolves Football Club. Games are on Saturdays at Raroa Parl starting in late September. I play CB or FS in a 3-4 defense.......ive won a championship with the Porirua Giants in 2005 and was the top points scorer in the Auck v Wgtn "Provincial All Star Game" (was a WR back then!)
Bring on the season! GO STEELAHZ!
