In the same way that Ponting has never been a good captain against good sides Hayden to the best of my memory never scored massive runs against great attacks. England 05, India through last year and the Jaapies this year which have been the big series of the last few years Haydos has not scored big runs. 3 series ago when they lost in India he scored runs when he swept everything on offer, 2nd to last I think Damien Martyn scored all there runs.
His last Ashes series wasn't to bad but that was an average English side, the 05 series he was horrendous till he got that hundred at the Oval in the 5th test which even then wasn't really the innings his team needed.
So my rather convuluted point is that while Haydos has a great record I would questions whether he scored runs against good sides.
