When they perform against SA, Australia and England

Good lord.

So ODI series wins over both England and SA away in the last year and wins over Oz in our most recent test counts?

But nothing else? You my man, are a deadset fudgewit.

You can call me a fan that's been really turned off in the last 2 years. The McCullum-Taylor-Potter episode left a sour taste in my mouth not to mention a complete jimmy dumbfudge as CEO. We have a captain that decides what position he will play and then never does anything. He might get the odd quickfire knock where people go 'oohh' but he has absolutely no sense of what is required for an occasion. "That's just the way I play" = That's the way you lose too pal (screaming heap). That side is better is better off without him because there is just zero in the consistency of performance department (which oddly enough, mirrors the sides own consistency) Good captains stop flapping their gums about what they should do and go and do it. He doesn't. If that was any other sport, he'd have to earn his position. How McCullum still has his is a mystery.

We have talent in Southee, Boult, Wagner, Watling, Taylor, Guptill and Williamson. The others are interchangeable depending on who has hit the most boundaries recently. Sodhi is a raw prospect and Anderson is a purple patch like David Warner gets into (wogger) but he will be found out. I see Bennett and Milne are back after being raved about as the next big things (that weren't). Say, wasn't Gillespie the next big thing too? What about Bracewell? McClenaghan is being talked up as the next big thing too. Wonder what he will do?

As for pyjama cricket, I rate the results in the test match arena because that's where it counts for me. The day we get whitewashed by Bangladesh in ODI and/or T20 just shows you don't really need any skill to be able to play the game, just 50 overs of luck. I don't mind watching ODI cricket (I used to really enjoy it) but I cannot stand T20. A blight on the game.

Some consistent performance and I'll come around. Until then....
