The article should be renamed to read 'Chris Cairns confirms he is Mr X'.

Its just such a massive facepalm for defending his position that I am really surprised that he is actually that stupid in doing all this in the first place, and secondly keeping up this charade in the public eye.. I don't see Martin Crowe, Dion Nash, John Bracewell and others making statements that they are not Mr X because simply, they are not. The fact that he is squealing loud enough like that in the manner he did with the words he used in his statement just screams guilt - Streisand Effect anyone? If he is not involved, he has no need to defend his position!!!! Does Lady Gaga release a statement saying she is not Mr X? Its almost as bad as saying: Person 1 "You took that ring" Person 2: "It has been alleged that I took that ring but I can categorically say that I have never seen that diamond and sapphire ring with the engraving 'luv u' on it and if he and others say I took it, they are lying"

 

If he thought he has a chance of a career near cricket before, he certainly has nothing now. He is a stain on the name Cairns and by association, brings down what his Dad achieved because Lance cannot come out in the press and defend this at all and if he does, he is as stupid as his son.
