I know exactly what you meant. The problem with your point is Cairns is involved. He knows he is being investigated, many people are pointing the finger in his direction, a lot of the leaked information includes little bits of eveidence which also point towards him. The others you mention have none of that to worry about, which funnily enough, is probably why they aren't defending themselves.....

I do agree that he's probably guilty as sin but in his mind he's decided getting on the front foot is going to be better than waiting for them to come and get him and above all it indicates he will be fighting it until the end.

Yes he is involved (and I did say that so how is that a problem with my point?), which is why his defence of it, as I stated, is a massive facepalm. Its just implies his guilt even further than those that dare not speak his name being Mr X. He should have just said 'here, I am Mr X' for all his defence was worth. I see Stuff have not joined in the Herald in naming him which is interesting.

I think the problem Cairns has is that Lou Vincent alone, he could have backed himself in a he said/she said cause 'Lou is a bit mental' and played that angle to win it off. Now you have McCullum out there, and a coach in India, and 3 others and the Modi lawsuit. The amount of people that are against him.... is why his defence of it is stupid. With all this going down, I wonder (and I don't mean this in a callous manner) how much longer Lou will be alive for because if these people are as shady as they make out and Lou is worried enough to get security, you can bet they are coming after him.

I guess if you want to know the definition of Chris Cairns, wikipedia Lance Armstrong. The end. I wonder how long until Lance is in the press.
