Nah, bat first - the Saffers lost to both Pakistan and India chasing.

Every game is completely different.

What do you base that on? Every game is different of course, but completely different? I mean it's not like South Africa are going to play 11 players who weren't in either of those two games all of a sudden. They have lost two games this tournament chasing (one at this ground) and that alone will put more pressure on them if we bat first. They did win against Sri Lanka chasing but Sri Lanka were so poor that I don't think you can read much into it.

Players can have an on/off day. Weather, ground conditions.Luck.

Yeah, but there's also things that don't change for every game (at least not as quickly): attitude, form, skill, the captain and coach's ideas and approach. I don't doubt that weather and ground conditions can affect whether you will bowl first or not but I think in this case South Africa's history of struggling in chases this tournament combined with the pressure of their historical choking tag means that we should bat first given the chance.

We will see.
