Mark Craig isn't as bad as you say but he is a true reflection of our spin stocks in NZ - not flash. Fact is we have to pick A spinner but he kind of needs bat as well so it's either Santner or Craig - neither of which are really expected to win us the game in NZ conditions, but you have to have that variation in most cases. The spinner might chip in with a wicket or two and is required to bowl when the ball is old and batsmen are set facing the tiring pace attack. Corey Anderson will contribute in a similar way. Not ground breaking insight but the answer to your post re Craig is a relatively simple one.
