I disagree with that - he has no place in a limited overs side edit: as an allrounder, (there is an argument to include him as a batsman, but I think there are better batsmen out there), his bowling just far to expensive.  His use is as a test allrounder where we need/want a fourth seamer, and also need the batting he provides - we can't afford to carry four specialist seamers that don't bat if we want to include a spinner that doesn't bat aswell.  If Astle was there as the spinner you could probably get away with Bracewell Southee Boult and Martin/Wagner, but not with Patel.
