Just because it may not be your music genre doesn't make it sh*t.

Also with the likes of Usher, Justin Timberlake, Drake and the Game (who are some of the biggest names in the music industry at the moment) all showing support to him, he must be doing something right.

Its not tall poppy syndrome at all. Do you really see any of those artist mentioned above standing the test of time?
Let alone Justin?

off the top of my head I cdn't name a song by either of them and I'm prob closer to their target audience than many on here. Timberlake is a very underated actor tho - was great in Blacksnake Moan

Not as much effort put into this one. Needs more paragraphs and hyperbolic statements.

Three for me, and two for them.

I don't need to write paragraphs to argue that. Its common fact.

Usher and Timberlake are RnB. It wouldn't be what it is today without them.

Hmmm. Time to rate your wind up i think.

- Going against popular opinion - ?
- Supporting the wind up with various high profile names - ?
- Pointing out that your wind up is "fact" and not just "opinion" - ?
- Finally realizing your wind up isn't working much and contradicting yourself by putting down others musical tastes - ?

Overall not too bad Harry, not too bad. Last bit prevents you receiving top marks.

Three for me, and two for them.

says the person who earlier quoted "I can see Usher and Justin Timberlake definitely standing the test of time". Both of them are oldish and had tracks released pre 2000

No I don't think its old - I'm merely pointing out the irony that someone who is telling us off for living in the past is using as his own example artists who started releasing music ten years or more ago. Usher isn't my thing in any way but I'd rather listen to him than Bieber and as one of the older people in this thread I think you all shd leave the Disney Channel and get into drum & bass lol

R& B - When I hear that type of music, I think of "The Blues Brothers" Aretha Franklyn, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and Maxewell Street - which sadly no longer exists.

I agree!! Genre's for music are a bit of a nightmare really. They are created/add their artists to, by the record companies in the hope of selling more albums but many artists don't like being labelled as being from a genre.

RnB, according the bible that is Wikipedia, arrived in 1940s... I'll stop living in the past if you do...

Fats Domino- Ain't That a Shame from the 50's

Damn, I was just laughing at the fact that there was entire topic thread for Bieber and now here I am posting on it!!

Being reminded of Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson and his versions of Bach, Mozart etc it then led on to reminding me of Walter/Wendy Carlos of "Switched on Bach" fame.

Couldn't find her version of Brandenburg #3, final movement which was O for OARSOME but here is a good approximation - just not quite as grunty from memory.
