In response to Valeo, League is way better to watch then Union.
They don't have to re-do every single scrum, they get on with it,
their are no pretty boys like Dan Carter in it, and their are a lot
of big hits. Did anyone see Melbourne's try last week? It was
absolutely beautiful, the player jumped up to get the ball, he
caught it, then dropped it, and caught it again before hitting the
ground and getting the try - absolute class.
My favourite sports:
1. Football
2. League
AFL and Gaelic football look alright as well.
League is for boofheads. Union requires wayyy more thinking. And no
pretty boys in league? Uhh, Sonny Bill? Karmichel Hunt? Theres
heaps.
and AFL and Gaelic football = pretty much scrag at lunchtime with a
few goal posts.
Scrag at lunchtime with posts? OK lets compare 5 minutes of
rugby to AFL:
Fitness - while rugby's agrarian apes stand around puffing and
panting after making maybe 10 metres of ground, AFL lad's have not
even been warmed up yet. And tehy are still running around
after 2 hours!
Skills - while commentators declare a kick destined to go into
touch as a "great kick", Aussie Rules requires players to hit a
moving target off either foot over 50+ metres.
Style of play - throwing a ball backwards to go forwards? nuff
said!
Meanwhile, the action can and does go anywhere and everywhere
in a game of AFL, making for a fast flowing, INTERESTING
game.
Tactics: in rugby? "OK lads lets hit the other team as hard as
we can and run into a gap if we see one!"
AFL: Games can actually be won and lost from a coaching box,
requiring discipline from players and managers...
Ironic the dude who started the dont sl*g rugby chants would
dismiss a clearly superior brand of football... ESSENDON FC
PREMIERS 2007!!!
