Auckland has been in decline for many years now, especially the CBD.austin111
Im not a big follower of local politics but Little is a very experianced in national politics. He has some huge issues to address in Wellington. The city is not quite a basket case but things are not great. IMO successive governments have neglected Wgtn. Auckland gets all the limelight and $$. No other Western country would let its capital city go into such a decline. Hopefully Little's experiance and govt contacts can help turn things around. Good luck to him....hes going to need it.
you've seen wellingon's CBD recently? it's a loing way away from what it was a decade ago. Auckland is not the only CBD that is struggling. I havent looked at the political leanings of our "new" council in Wgtn yet, but I.m hoping we have a mayor that can at least get everyone pulling in the same direction.
