Russia has taken a huge step backwards in terms of equality and society since the orthodox church returned as the state religion - although we don't want persecution here like they had at the start of the Soviet Union.

I don't mind having these sorts of TV shows funded by the government as they are culturally important to a community but it should be understood that it's a cultural show and not the government funding religion. Perhaps a disclaimer at the start saying that it's a work of fiction or are based on completely unproven assumptions.
