Russia has taken a huge step backwards in terms of equality and society since the orthodox church returned as the state religion - although we don't want persecution here like they had at the start of the Soviet Union, we of course should have freedom of religion but it shouldn't be paid for by the tax payer.

I don't mind having these sorts of TV shows funded by the government as they are culturally important to a community but it should be understood that it's a cultural show and not the government funding religion. Perhaps a disclaimer at the start saying that it's a work of fiction or are based on completely unproven assumptions.
