Debatable: Scotland performed well but if you only beat Zaire 2-0, you're doomed. Yugoslavia beat Zaire 9-0 from memory, and these were the years when African teams really were naïve amateurs. Very strong Scottish squad too: Bremner, Lorimer, Law, Hay, Jordan, McGrain etc.
As a player, Willie Ormond also part of Hibs "famous five" forward line...
