Not sure where else to put this, and I hope with all my heart this doesn't end with a RIP.
But Cardiff's brand new club record signing, Argentinian striker Emiliano Sala, was a passenger on a two-man plane that disappeared over the English Channel last night and is presumed to have crashed. He only joined the club this week from French Ligue 1 side Nantes for £15 million.
Hoping the best for him and pilot, although having had multiple rescue attempts fail over a 20 hour period I have to say it's difficult for this to end well. Absolutely tragic.
All but confirmed that the 28 year old has passed away. Debris has been found in the ocean and it's been more than 24 hours since his disappearance.
Just as he was on his way to his first day of training after a dream move. He was certainly on the right path - he was the highest scoring Argentinian in Europe's top 5 leagues this season after Lionel Messi himself, and just secured a long-awaited move to the Premier League, rejecting the $$$ of the Chinese Super League to achieve this.
RIP Emiliano Sala
