not talking about miners in australia.....my comments pertain heavily to my own experience in the corporate world...not mining/wharfies/sailors where I'm sure unions have made a vast difference to poor working conditions. Unions are fine for those industries, but int the corp world I find they are pretty useless.
No where in your previous post did you allude to just talking about the corporate world, so I assumed you meant unions in general.
But stiil, would you rather it was like in Hong Kong or Japan, where businesspeople work ridiculous hours and hardly get to see their families, let alone go and watch football...Businesses want to make money: if they could make workers work longer hours for less pay, they would.
