This mildly annoys me. In the Herald th PM is quoted as referring to Beckham as "thick as batshit".
While this may be factually correct, it's not really his prerogative to pass such comment.
Becks was/is paid a lot of money to be a footballer, he happens to be married to Posh, they happen to be both famous and wealthy, and as it turns out they seem to be quite nice people.
They're not famous for being scientists with extensive publications in the Journal for Very Smart People.
What it meant to say was that the people who love the Beckhams are as "thick as batshit"! The Beckhams themselves are the batshit!
