Just calling out one of my pet peeves. Isn't that what it's about? I could have just left it, accepted it for what it is, but instead decided to make a big deal out of it.

I'm not sure you know what a mic is. Its short for microphone and its the thing you speak in to. So if you dropped the mic it would likely mean you have finished talking.
As you are no longer listening but are still talking I would suggest you may have actually dropped the headphones.
