As far as I saw he called it an "act of violence".... No direct criticism of officials or insults or abuse?

The fine is unimportant, that challenge was pure malice with zero intention of even looking at the ball.... like we've seen from Siggy in the past (remember)

My question is would anyone else have got away with that?

Is that you Declan?

On the question, I'd say yes, the ref on the day seemed to not really want to give cards out. There was an incident in the second half where North Wellington keeper Sacha Nathu took out a Wests player outside the box, ball had gone past and it was blatant foul to stop him getting passed, should have been a red as it was outside the box. But the ref wasn't giving out reds so only booked Nathu
