Pretty disgraceful from Dunedin Tech and Football South, making the Uni girls travel 9 hours return and play a game all on the same day in the middle of their busy exam period, where several girls are going to miss out as they have exams on the Saturday.
No consideration given to the travelling team whatsoever despite it being in the cup regulations, and Uni supposedly requesting a Sunday fixture to allow for the travel down.
Not to mention the roads will most likely be packed with traffic traveling down for the All Blacks game Saturday night.
Easy fix option would be to postpone the game a week to the 30th June/1st July where Uni has a Bye in the WPL and Dunedin Tech no game scheduled, but Dunedin claiming they can’t schedule a game because it’s Uni holidays (which surely would affect Uni more than Dunedin Tech).
No wonder the local girls game is struggling with seemingly no help from NZF to help what should have been an exciting time for the club
