In the past decade has their not be at least 2 other mergers based on one club having the facilities/money and the other has the player base.
Have they all prospered?
EDIT: with the new ISPHanda rule won't ACFC merge into Central United? to become a 12 month club
Not sure of the full circumstances of all these mergers but these are the mergers that have occurred in the last decade
2011 Nelson United, Nelson Metro & Nelson City form FC Nelson
2011 Avon United & Burnside form FC Twenty 11
2012 Cashmere Wanderers & Woolston Technical form Cashmere Technical
2015 University-Mt Wellington & Bohemian Celtic form Uni-Mount Bohemian Celtic
2016 Pukekohe & Waiuku form Franklin United - not a full merger, Pukekohe and Waiuku still exist as clubs in their own right
2017 Manukau City & Mangere United form Manukau United - another that isn't a full merger (yet)
this is not a merger at all - just Bohs using Uni-Mt to host their team - sorry didn't see Doloras had answered this already.
Also while they can't find a ground AFF also won't green light them to be a new club - due to too many clubs already.
