Good point sealord, makes very interesting reading if that was the case, they would be staring down the barrel of relegation.

That said,I do actually agree with Teza's point that north wellington should be playing at a higher level. They have a very strong junior club, and history as a central league club. Would be great for their club to get back to that level, but 5 years seems rather ambitious without some serious signings...

To be frank that table is incorrect. Add 3 points to Wharfies and Vic Uni, put NW down to 15 points where they belong.

You sound like an Arsenal fan who still thinks their side is a Premier League contender. But that's another matter.

I have no doubt that the movements will match the rules.

In regards to the photos, the ones that I have seen from yesterdays game appear to be general photos of the game that were taken by a supporter, as opposed to some GCSB like plot (in fact if you look on the NW Facebook page you will see photos of other games).
Because the person asked to take the photos thought it was a ridicoulous idea and refused to do it.

You're clearly an intellectual, having to bring Mummy's into it. The only one who has gone crying to Mummy (Cap Football) this year has been NW.

Horses Head I agree, it would be good to see them back to their glory days. But the same can be said for a lot of clubs in the region.

5-6 years is a long time in football so I think it's not unrealistic to expect that if things go to plan we could be near to Central League by then. A lot of things come into to it obviously, both on and off the park.

You're not wrong in regards to needing an injection of a number of older (by older I mean over 25 and under 35 :)) experienced good quality players to help take us forward. From a coaches point of view apart from the obvious need for footballing ability we also are looking for the type of player that is prepared to mentor the younger guys, take on a level of responsibility within the team and commit for the long haul.

We are working hard to get the foundations in place i.e Footballing strategy, facilities, sponsorship, community involvement  etc. It's going to be hard work but as a club we are starting to move forward.

Agree the rules were unknowingly broken,  though not to anyones disadvantage. To pursue things to the letter of the law was north wellingtons choice, and their right to do so, and it scored them 3 points. However, I for one ( certainly many others also) disagree with it morally, and it was far from sporting.

I was referring to the Uni issue as opposed to the Karori one, should have made it a bit clearer sorry (Karori's was a genuine oversight I believe. You guys know my personal feelings on how we should have dealt with it).

Lower Hutt won 5 nil. Were quality all over the park and reaffirmed my thoughts that they are the best team in league. Well deserving of promotion. Tough stuff for our lads. Crucial final two games now...

Cheers

Big win for them (for us as well in a roundabout way).

Island bay are a pretty handy team and have some good players, I thought it would be a lot tighter than that.

Back to the drawing board for you guys next week then, much like us. Two games to go and still a lot to play for.

Good luck

I'm wonder why think they have a strong Junior Club/ (just asking)

They have numbers but performance on the field from 10yrs up isnt much good.

I dont know what efforts they are putting into their junior coaching but if "a club" wants to be a force its the area to spend some money on a decent coaching director.

Just incredible. How can u attempt defence Tessa. I hv asked my friends at Uni, they thought had transferred in gd faith. Used same process for four others from yr "club". Cap Foolball accepted for four, their system hiccuped for one and u of no sporting bone pounced.

As others say, yr "club" now despised. All watchers hope u w still get relegated, even after have stole six points. Yr "club" does not no meaning of term.

Right I'll give my final comments on these matters below. I feel it doesn't serve any purpose to discuss it any further as no amount of reasoning or discourse from me will change anyone’s mind, so that’s where I will leave it.

In regards to the Uni issue, the other players were transferred as per regulations and final clearances were received from NW. The last  player was not cleared by NW so the transfer didn't go through (actually as far as I am aware no transfer or clearance request was ever seen by NW for this particular player until after the protest had been lodged and Uni realised there was a problem). The fact that no confirmation was received from NW unlike the other players should have raised a red flag at Uni but for some reason it did not (this is something for Uni to look into and perhaps work to improve their procedures) .

Look at the end of the day the rules state that it is the responsibility of the player and the club to ensure all transfers are completed according to regulations, this wasn't done, so end of story.

Just in case people aren't aware, there were a number in depth enquiries into this matter (including one by NZ Football) and all found in favour of NW, case closed.

I've given my thoughts on the underage player issue and the guys on this forum from Karori know where I stand on the matter.

TwitchinSphinter even though your post is mostly an illiterate ill-informed rant, I'm still more than happy to engage with you in further conversation around actual football matters (Cap 1 in particular) in future.

Terry

Wharf v Jville next Sat should interesting. QCs on both lines instead of ARs. Jville could still be relegated especially if SO don't get promoted and three come down.  PS: Poly didn't play y'day so will probably come back in seconds v Jville.

Actually if we had used a lawyer we may have had a few more points :)

Unfortunately we didn't turn up to play yesterday and Tawa did (aided by a number of first team players). All within the rules I might add so no complaints from me.  Tawa played very well considering the conditions and deserved the win. Alex Moore number 1 was at it's winter best again, thank goodness we should have a nice new artificial to use as our home and training ground next season.

It's one of those things that makes it a little bit harder for those clubs that don't have first teams in Prem or Central League i.e. Miramar have been dropping a number of 2nd and 1st team players down over the last month or so so that they qualify to play for their 3rds which has obviously helped keep them up  (and before anyone jumps in, Miramar actually told us this).

Still thems the re grading rules and as long as clubs play by them (there has been a few games where they haven't been followed this season) we just have to adapt.

Personally I think dropping 3 players down to one team  is to many and it should be restricted to 2 + 2 i.e. 2 to the next team down and 2 to the team below that. You still get to drop 4 players but can't really stack the team to much. However that rule won't be altered as a number of clubs have to much to lose by changing it.

All on next week for a number of teams in Cap 1. The Island Bay result today will be a big one for a number of clubs.

I might need more than one beer after the game next week Feverish (I could be celebrating staying up or crying because we are going down) :)

It could pan out that way but if the Tawa team that played us turn up next week they should beat KCU (I hope :) ). The thing is these 2 teams can't afford to play for the draw, they both need to win to make sure they stay up as other results will affect them.

The interesting thing for IBU is that the cannot regrade ANY 1st team players this week, that may help Seatoun (I think this game is to close to call though).

Miramar are restricted to 1 regrade from central League and none from Cap prem  (although as mentioned they have been dropping players down over the last month to get around this it shouldn't affect them). Even so I would expect them to beat BNU but desperation can inspire a team.

I expect you guys to come out and try to make a statement against us but we will be going all out to get the points as well so anything could happen (especially with the quality of guest players we are bringing in for the game).

Actually we may request the game to be moved to Sunday so Karori can't regrade any players as well ;)

It's going to be a tense weekend for a lot of players and coaches.

Oh and mines a Pilsner......

You are lucky that your mate horsehead will be away. KP2 had three senior games this weekend so has been chopped up a bit (not as bad as the top Alex Moore pitch the yest)

Someone who knows the rules better than me can tell me this. Jamie Mason scored for Island Bay 2nds on Sunday. If he played for their 1sts on Saturday (which my flatmate tells me he did), then is that legit?

As long as they only had 2 other first team players in the 2nds he is sweet, more than 3 then a problem.

A pity, I was looking forward to giving him a big hug :).

They played on Alex Moore number 1 yesterday? It was a mess on Saturday, the worst I have seen it.  I couldn't imgaine it would have been  pleasant yesterday. Can't wait until the artificial is built.

It's not a regrade if the players are returning to the team they played the last match for but if they played for the firsts or seconds in the match before Sunday then by my reading they could be classed as regraded players (rules states they are not classed as a regrad if they return to the team they played for in the Previous match only).

No problem they just swap leagues. So Island Bay stay where they are no matter what. If IBU survive in Cap 1 then their Cap 2 team dont get promoted so again status quo.
