From what I have seen Wainui are a team doomed for the lower grades. Both 1st and 2nd team finished last. Hardly any decent U19 players at the club, The Local high school struggles for a team and barely input from the club. It is not a big Soccer suburb, a great nursery for League and Rugby!! All the good youngsters go to Lower Hutt, Petone or Stop Out because they have good structures and volunteers!!This year some of the best players and coaches left (approx 7-8 from last years squad), the two ex petone players (brothers) injured all year, top keeper to stop out, defender to lower hutt, others not interested in playing for current coach who was 2nd team coach last year and probably why some players are lacking motivation and he has no idea really!!Most of the current crop are pretty much cap 4 players from last year and many of them have never been coached and enjoy their grog too much and don't want to learn!Be best if they dropped to Cap 1 anyway!!The club do not spend $$$ to improve player depth either, so hard to attract new players. Sad to say really, cannot see things improving anytime soon!!
