Still sounds an awful lot like indoor football to me. Only difference that I can see is that you can slide tackle and goals scored by females don't count as 2 (terrible sexist rule anyway)
You have to play it to understand the massive differences. The size and weight of the ball, the size of the court. The speed of the game.
It's pretty easy to see a correlation between early Futsal play and really better footballers in later age. Capital football encouraging it, will be good for football in the long run.
have you (or anyone else) got any proof of that throwaway line used by futsal promoters though?
That Brazilian guy who played for you last year who seems to be Mr Futsal wasn't a great 11 asider when I saw him. The NZF futsal team hardly play 11 aside.
Iniesta, Ronaldo, Ronaldhino?
Rojas? Rogic?
Footballers who played futsal
English FA looks to futsal to produce a Messi
About 75% of current Australian Matilda (football) womens team played futsal at a young age.
If you look through the age group teams coming through NZ now, I would say many have played a reasonable amount of futsal.
If you drop down to NTC level, the percentages are even greater.
It doesn't mean a good futsal player makes a good footballer. But the proportion of good footballers who have played futsal is growing in this part of the world.
Do some research.
