I remember going to a Federation trial back in my early years. After moving it from it's original location on the day (just before kick off), the coach played his club players for the entire trial giving everyone else a 10 minute stint.

Welcome to football in New Zealand!

Which federation was that?

There are strict rules about trials and the amount of time players get to trial.  There should be a number of selectors present and any sort of things like this should be reported to the selectors. Was this before or after the WoF plan was brought in. If it was within the last 4 years there is no way that should have happened. No club coaches are allowed to be running the trial teams from the sideline.

Was a while back, over 6 or 7 years ago maybe? Didn't really understand the politics back then :P. Ironically I was in Upper Hutt's academy at the time. I imagine (hope) it's a lot better now.
