I remember going to a Federation trial back in my early years. After moving it from it's original location on the day (just before kick off), the coach played his club players for the entire trial giving everyone else a 10 minute stint.
Welcome to football in New Zealand!
Which federation was that?
There are strict rules about trials and the amount of time players get to trial. There should be a number of selectors present and any sort of things like this should be reported to the selectors. Was this before or after the WoF plan was brought in. If it was within the last 4 years there is no way that should have happened. No club coaches are allowed to be running the trial teams from the sideline.
Relating to the above...
Our fed is Capital
The trials for the Wellington women's team were run by the Hutt .. its ok though because they are female...
Forgive me, I dont quite get what you are saying here?. Whats the inference?
The first being that the trials are run by a club contradicting what Capital apparently viewed as important when selecting the coach for the team.
The other being there has been a 'mandate' handed down from NZ Football to each fed to hire females where they can - often at the expense of top male coaches - who are slowly but surely turning their back on women's football.
