As I said I wasn't watching closely. I knew it was 3-1 in the Wharfies game and heard another goal and assumed it was Marist (last time I looked they were on attack).
The SV 2nds were all but one man African, and quite impressive. Suspect LH was the 3rds though as the team on the main pitch looked quite young in parts.
Best bit was seeing Easty play 90 minutes after he told people yesterday he wouldn't play until halfway through the season.

What a welcome to Welly football - Upper Hutt vs Stop Out game - player sent off on both teams, one a stragiht red, and one 2 yellows. A penalty for Upper Hutt to score, almost everyone on the field got a good kicking - including myself in goal.

I was at Petone last night, good to see a few goals, none better that the last one for Wharfies scored by a younger player, not so good seeing 3 RED cards, SV keeper in my view very unlucky, but just like the players the refs can and will ocassionally get it wrong.

What exactly makes you ineligible for the Hilton-Petone in the first round. I always thought it was open registration until you play for someone. Or was it a suspension from last season?

I think some of the players played for the first team on Sunday. You can only play for one team per round

that makes sense. They have been training next to us at MacAllister and they've had about 20 max. Here's the relevant rule
No player may play for more than one club during the Tournament. No more than two players may move from a clubs� A team to its B team, and vice versa, for each round of games during the Tournament, provided that no player may play (take the field) for two teams in any one round of the Tournament.

I thought the greeks B team looked the same side as the greeks A team but than they all look the same to me, except chopper.
Good passion from Stokes Valley B last night playing with 10 men. And yes, that wont be the same Lower Hutt B team that takes the field in during the season.

I think the fact was, he wasn't being consistent in his rulings. Little shirt tugs weren't getting called, or got called the wrong way, and players decided to take it into their hands to sort it out

Was at the UH v SO game and I can tell you the refereeing was below par. There was a lot let go and you are right that the players started taking matters into there own hands. In saying that the SO guy was eventually given 3 red cards for not leaving the sidlines and giving the ref sh*t. The Upper Hutt guy had a brain explosion on a yellow and received a second for a sill tackle.
Game was fairly physical from the start and ref should have called captains in for a chat.

Could very well be wrong, but I seem to remember a bloke from North Wellington getting more than that a few years ago. Kept on cursing at the ref and ended up with the equivalent of about 9 red cards I think!! As I said, maybe I imagined it.....
