United is a very small club and may be a bit far in terms of training compared to Western and Nomads. Both of which have fairly strong senior sections - would probably say on the whole Nomads is the stronger club (ok junior section compared to almost no juniors, club rooms vs no club rooms etc - tullet park is probably one of the better home fields too)
Other options are burwood (really small club with very few seniors) or possibly coastal spirit and parklands if you wanna be heading further east
