WOW!!! It seems that there is a witch hunt to make Waimak into a bunch of monsters!!! I went to watch them play against Hornby last week and there was no hint of trouble whatsoever, I remember one booking for a challenge the whole game.
Also speaking to a few guys around the ground I found out that the instigator of the trouble against Uni was AR1 who charged towards the coach in the dressing room door of the Waimak players.
A question.... Why is there no mention in the press about the AR1 who by most accounts was totally out of order?
The officials have a code of conduct to uphold as well, are they being investigated or is it just the Waimak club being dragged through the press with no right to reply???
I was at this game and the AR1 was aggressive and doing nothing to uphold the conduct of the game even during it.
The issue at this match would never have escalated to the point it did if the AR1 had upheld his own personal conduct. Instead he was aggressive and confrontational towards the Coach, players and spectators, but has conveniently dropped out of the statement of facts since.
The player who was initially banned was incorrectly identified by the OFFICIALS, not by Waimak. Waimak have since identified the player correctly having seen the video footage, and accepted his penalties.
Sure, the officials are considered to be the final authority on the day, but it appears that when they step out of line, all details are swept away and the finger pointed firmly elsewhere instead. It puts the supposed 'code of conduct' into disrepute when it's not fairly upheld from all sides.
