Paul Brydon (Suburbs co-coach)in the local Nelson rag before today's game against Western -
"First round, I thought they were one of the better teams.
"But down there, when we lost 2-1, I thought that was probably our worst performance of the season, which was disappointing because we had just had two straight wins over Ferrymead and Cashmere Tech.
"They are a battling side; they are not easy-beats but technically, they are not as good as us.
"Man for man, pound for pound we are a better side than they are. We just have to take our chances. We worked on that at training - we did a lot of shooting and crossing," he said."
They may have been better off working on defence :)
Can't shoot as hit the wood work several times after getting back to 3 - 1. Western the only side to defeat Suburbs twice this season.
With Western winning makes the Western - Bays game a biggee along with the Cashmere Tech - Coastal Spirit game. The Halswell Suburbs clash always seem to have added drama down here - in recent years game stopped for snow before resuming in other Suburbs keeper Eddie Newman scoring a goal direct from and free-kick while almose scoring from another free-kick. In the final game can FC break their duck against Nomads.
