Most clubs look after their players as they see fit. Jobs with other members, boot money, travel expenses, free social trips. This happens throughout NZ and is quite common. It certainly happened at Rangers and New Brighton when I was with them.

Currently though the highest paid player in a Mainland Premier First team would surely be GT playing for Coastal and MV would be the highest paid female also playing for Coastal.

Not a problem, a club using their resources as they see fit, but fact rather than some of the fiction spread here.

Good point PT, time you put the boots back on :) Although a little misguided as neither of them are paid to play unlike others who are at certain clubs because they are being paid to play. It would be interesting to hear the views of those that do get enticed/ rewarded as to their club allegiance if no remuneration was on offer? Moot point in the end though because there is and always will be incentives to turn out for this or that club, it's a competitive environment after all and many clubs use the success of their premier teams as a measuring stick for their success, rightly or wrongly.
