Will be interesting to see the level of transfers in the coming weeks before the SI League gets underway, hopefully not too many from teams that are battling relegation or team fighting for promotion.
I believe that if, and it may be a big if, the same format is in place next season - a SIL for the top sides after the completion of the Mainland Premier League and the Football South Premier League then a rule needs to be brought in that covers any player transferring in the last few rounds of their respective Premier League.
The rule stating any players transferring into a team that goes on to play in the SIL has to have been on the team sheet for a certain number of games for that club in their respective Premier Leagues, say four games in the MPL and a lesser number for the FSL (if only played over eight rounds).
This way coaches / managers would look at their squads midway into the leagues, rather than only once they know that have qualified for the SIL or use players that they have been developing within their own club, rather than plunder players developed by another club.
To be fair the rule would also have to apply to the bottom three teams from the MPL as well.
Yes agree with this. Another way to solve it is to bring the transfer window forward a month. Might not be logistically possible though I guess.
Yes the June transfer window is a FIFA timing so cannot alter that so would have to be a rule for the SIL.
